P.L.A.N FOR THE WEEKENDS
Weekends are days we all look forward to but are pretty short, they come and go within a snap. But how do you spend or P.L.A.N FOR THE WEEKENDS really?
Make it a habit to make the most of your weekends, they are precious and should be valued. You’ve probably worked all week with one target in mind — getting to the weekend and then doing something useful with it! Yet often when you actually reach the weekend, it tends to fizzle out and not quite live up to your expectations or plans. This article should help with making plans and sticking to them, as you’re most likely in need of motivation, more like a PUSH!
A weekend plan pushes you forward rather than pulling you back. The acronym P.L.A.N FOR THE WEEKENDS will help you enjoy the weekend, leaving you refreshed and energized.
P – P.L.A.N FOR THE WEEKENDS:
This might sound like a tautology with the article title, or a bit vague but it is literarily what you just read it. Plan your weekend just as you plan your week. While it doesn’t mean that you will have each moment planned, you should start the weekend knowing what you want to get out of it, as you might end up doing nothing and then wonder where the time went once the weekend is over. If, however, you make plans during the week for what you will be doing on Saturday and Sunday, the anticipation will improve not only your weekend but also your week.
L- Live a little:
This statement has been misused a lot of times and should be reiterated time after time. Learn to live a little simply means you should learn to have some fun, getting outside for a walk, run, bike ride, or anything else that will help you get some exercise and enjoy the fresh air will leave you energized while you also reap the health benefits. Since we often don’t get enough exercise during the weekdays, the weekend is a perfect time to catch up. Go to the movies, go for outdoor games with friends or partners. Living a little means a lot of things but one thing – HAVING FUN!
A – Avoid routine:
At all costs, avoid routines on your weekends. We live our lives mainly by routine Monday through Friday. If we’re not careful and intentional, the familiarity of our patterns can easily lead us to become stuck in a cycle of doing the same things over and over again. The weekend, therefore, is a good time to force yourself to step out of your comfort zone by trying new experiences, joining a new club, crossing an item off your bucket list, or revisiting a hobby that you used to enjoy.
N – Never take the weekends for granted:
Here is a simple mentality that should be carried about every week. We become the very thoughts in our minds. Never underestimate the naps that should come with your weekends. Never underestimate your time with your child. Allow for some downtime. Filling your time with different activities can be fun, but to the extreme, it can also take its toll both mentally and physically. Instead, set aside some time just for yourself so you can recharge your batteries in any way you find relaxing. You should be careful not to fill up your empty time with things that aren’t relaxing like constantly checking email.
“The weekend should be a reprieve from the daily grind and demanding schedule of the workweek, yet, giving structure to your days off can mean a big payoff,” says Amy Cirbus
WEEKEND P.L.A.N will do you a lot of good, do not be oblivious of this fact. Embrace it and make use of the plans mentioned in this article. Have great weekends from now on.
