TRUST IS THE GREATEST CURRENCY
Haven’t you heard this? That trust is the greatest and most valuable currency. It is the foundation of all exchange.
If you don’t have trust then what have you? Trust is simply the confidence in or reliance on someone or something. It is the dependence we have upon something in the future.
You can’t buy a thing if you don’t trust the product. You can’t stay in a relationship if you don’t trust the other person. You can’t work for an employer if you don’t trust that you will be paid at the end of the month.
Trust isn’t just the greatest currency, it’s the only currency. Once trust is gone in any form of currency, the value is gone.
I believe that trust is key to the success of every human relationship. But it is a two-way street, you shouldn’t expect trust if you don’t give it. While it is important to trust, trust shouldn’t be handed on a silver platter. If someone wants your trust, they should be willing to earn it.
Equally important, if a person gives you their trust, you should respect and honor it as much as you can. They say trust that is broken can never be completely restored. Some have likened this situation to a crumpled paper, as hard as you may try, you will never be able to fully straighten it up.
So trust, but be sure the other person is worth your trust first, and if you are lucky to get trusted, guard it.
