Road to Women’s Business Growth is a collaborative venture designed to build the business skills and financial literacy of women entrepreneurs in Nigeria. As part of this initiative, the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women with its partners carried out research to assess the needs of women owners of small businesses in Nigeria. The research concluded that they need a greater understanding of a range of finance aspects to help manage and grow their businesses. This includes improved skills in issues such as managing cash flow, undertaking market analysis, determining financial needs, choosing financial products and understanding loan processes and requirements. The project trained 500 women owners of small businesses in financial literacy and investment readiness over six weeks.
