Rumors are pieces of information or a story that has not been verified. What this means, is that the person telling the story does not know for certain if it is true or not.
Like I said before, maintaining a relationship is not very easy, it comes with its pros and cons, and the many rumors that follow. Rumors have a way of disrupting one’s happiness, giving an impression of someone who was not there in the first place, it has a way of damaging relationships that have promising futures, but how exactly can one deal with these rumors?
Here are some ways to deal with rumors:

Check if it is true or not.

Don’t jump to conclusions
Jumping to conclusions is almost always emotionally draining. be strong enough to take a chill pill, especially when it is a rumor about you and it is not true.

Don’t spread it.
If it is about a friend or a loved one, be there for the person, don’t add more fuel to it, let it slide.

Be loyal
No matter the intensity of the rumor, remain loyal, stay true to the relationship.

Don’t let it get to you.
Distract yourself by engaging in other stuff. Rumors will pass, don’t let them get to you.
You must make a decision that you are going to move on. It won’t happen automatically. You will have to rise up and say, ‘I don’t care how hard this is, I don’t care how disappointed I am, I’m not going to let this get the best of me. I’m moving on with my life.”
Do note, a real relationship will last long beyond rumors.
