PANDEMIC IS STILL HERE – WHEN WILL IT BE OVER?

Pandemic has suddenly become the new normal. Working from home has been normalized by so many organizations. Virtual meetings are here to stay and keeps unlocking ways to make it fun and effective – thanks to the many apps that give such an opportunity. Wearing face masks is the new dress code for all. We assumed that, just like Ebola, it would have its exit point. Pandemic is still here… When will it be over?

The world has been in a pandemic mode for almost two years now. The virus continues to spread at a slow burn; intermittent lockdowns across states are the new normal. An estimated 125 million people have been infected worldwide,68.9million recovered and 2.69 million are dead.

It would have been great to sweep it out the door with the old planners and dead Christmas trees. But it’s 2021, and COVID-19 is still here. Those numbers are rising rapidly.

The good news is, the vaccines are out now and have been promised to combat this disease which makes it safe for everyone. Vaccines work by training and preparing the body’s natural defenses – the immune system – to recognize and fight off the viruses and bacteria they target. After vaccination, if the body is later exposed to those disease-causing germs, the body is immediately ready to destroy them, preventing illness thereby saving lives.

Despite the record speed at which they have been developed, COVID-19 vaccines have still been subject to the same checks, balances, and scientific and regulatory rigor as any other vaccine, and shown to be safe.
